Orvis is known for it respect for the environment and environmental causes.  For many years they have donated 5% of their before tax profits to protecting nature.

This earth day - TODAY MARCH 26th - they are encouraging people around the world to turn off their lights for an hour starting at 8:30 pm local time.

All Orvis stores will support Earth Hour ...." headquarters, retail stores, and rod shop in Vermont will go dark for the entire night of the 26th .. other retail stores will close early ... to turn off the lights at 8:30 p.m."

Just a reminder that EARTH HOUR is today at 8:30 pm local time.

Turn off your lights for an hour, think about the earth and how you can help make the world more sustainable.  Take a look outside and see if your neighbors / town have embraced Earth Hour and turned off their lights.

Earth Hour 2010 is just a few days away.

Earth Hour is a symbolic way of supporting global action for the environment.  For  the lst few years folks all around the globe haves turned off their lights for one hour as a very visible show of support.
