Austin solar power system at University of Texas campus




University of Texas now has the largest solar system in town as it celebrates the completion of photovoltaic power on its J. J. Pickle Research Campus.  …

Solar Energy Project (PDF): The project consists of two grid-tied solar power systems. One system will be a ground-mounted array of solar panels in a field south of the Microelectronics & Engineering Research Center building. The other system will be an array of panels over a newly constructed carport west of the Bureau of Economic Geology Administration building. A monitoring system will track the energy generated at each installation.

Austin, Tx - Smart Energy Grid




 

It is time to inject some "smarts" into the nations energy grid.  A consortia to be based in Austin, Texas plans to do just that.  The smarter grid will be much more efficient and possibly delay / eliminate the need for additional power plants.Smart Energy meter
