Solar Highway - Oregon

Oregon has a stretch of the Corridor of the Future - at  interchange of I-5 and I-205 in Oregon.  Ground mounted solar panels that provide power used at the interchange.

" ...  104 kilowatt ground-mounted solar array ... supplies about one-third of the energy needed for illumination at the site.
 
" ... energy ... feeds into the grid during the day ... At night ... energy flows back from the grid to light the interchange. ..."
