Sonoma Wine Company Solar Cogeneration Plant

sonoma Wine Co Cogeneration

Sonoma Wine Company takes sustainability seriously and works to reduce the footprint of the winery operations.  A cogeneration facility is a natural next step.

In this process the heat that passes through the solar cells (PV) is captured to heat water … so electricity and heat are produced from the sun.

Sonoma Wine Company and Cogena Solar have partnered to build the “ … first commercial scale solar cogeneration system to supply renewable heat and electricity …”.

When at full capacity the facility will “ … displace approximately 64,000 kilowatt-hours and 12,500 therms of natural gas annually….”
