Ford Motor Company Vehicle Recycling

Ford Motor CompanyFord has begun a program in Germany to encourage owners to recycle their older cars and buy new ones.  "Ford-certified dismantlers help ensure that all recyclables are indeed salvaged from the retired vehicles".

To date "more than 300,000 vehicles have been recycled into 290,000 tons of metal".  Along with reducing vehicle emissions and pollution by replacing older cars with newer, lower emission ones Ford  "plants a tree with every vehicle retired".

In addition to recycling cars; Ford is recycling tires.  Among the uses are "air deflectors and splashguards" and "ergonomic floor mats"  that are used on assembly lines to make new cars.
