Brazilan Micro Car - Obvio! Coming in 2007
The Brazilian Obvio is coming! This tiny car is smaller than a Cooper Mini and is to get "40 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg in the city, which is better than the Mini". It is expected to retail for approximately $14,000 or half t he price of the Toyota Prius.
It is no performance slouch - "goes from Zero to 60 in 4.2 seconds and is competitive when it comes to fuel efficiency".
The Obvio! is a "hybrid-fuel three seater" with an engine that is "built to burn gasoline, ethanol or even natural gas".
The first wave of 50.000 including some with electrical engines is expected to arrive in the United States in the fall of 2007.
